It Could Be Worse…Gary Coleman
1A picture of the late Gary Coleman in his hospital bed hooked up to oxygen just moments before his death was recently published in tabloid magazine, the Globe. Posing next to Coleman was Shannon Price, Coleman’s 24 year-old ex-wife, who apparently wanted this magical moment captured for a lifetime. This was our wedding day, this was our first trip to Disney, this is Gary Dead.

This oil thing is so out of control, I want to vomit. I don’t know who is dumber throughout this whole process, BP or the White House. A few weeks ago BP asked Kevin Costner for help with the oil cleanup, because he’s
What I learned from Dennis Hopper
0One of the most popular segments on this website has become “What I learned.” I’ve written these types of articles about celebrities that have passed away or fictional characters that will no longer be with us. These articles are based entirely on the first things that come into my head and with no research.
This edition is about world-class rebel, Dennis Hopper, who passed away on May 29th from complications of prostate cancer.
Here are some of the things that I learned from Dennis Hopper.
- That drinking and basketball don’t mix. And “drying up” for one game is very awkward looking. Hoosiers
- People who talk about Easyrider being a great movie, have done drugs. That scene in the cemetery is fucked up!
- A man with missing fingers makes a great villain and made me never want to take public transportation EVER. Speed
- Ameriprise must pay a shit load for
What I learned from Gary Coleman
0Former child and reality television star, Gary Coleman, passed away from a brain hemorrhage that resulted after a fall in his Utah home.
When I heard about Coleman’s death the first couple of thoughts that come to my mind.
- Do you remember when he was sitting on the car as a security guard? [Link]
- Bulimia
- Fat Kids eat potato chips out of large yellow containers
- Don’t trust dudes in bike shops
- “What’ you talking about, Willis”
Alright, I know the Bulimia thing is a little weird but one of my most memorable episodes of Different Strokes is when Dana Plato (is she dead?) character would overeat and then force herself to throw up. As a kid, I was shocked at this behavior. I remember sitting there and thinking, “why would she eat that cake just to throw it up?”
I learned a lot of life lessons from that show. More >
Name a Ronnie James Dio Song?
2Famous heavy metal frontman Ronnie James Dio died on May 16th, 2010 after a lengthy battle with stomach cancer. As I sat down to write something about his death, I realized that I knew very little about Ronnie James Dio. I knew he had crazy long black curly hair and was the “devil horns” guy. I’ve heard countless Dio references (I’ve even made Dio jokes in the past), but I couldn’t tell you anything he’s done musically.
When I mentioned this fact to a colleague, someone standing nearby said.
“You gonna write something bad about Dio?” in a shocked, disappointed manner.
I replied, “No, but can you name a Ronnie James Dio song?”
Silence.
My point was proven!
Somewhere along the line Ronnie James Dio became more important as a cultural reference than musician. He became the representation of heavy metal, both good and bad. The love of evil and darkness, the More >
Corey Haim…Dead at 38
3
MTV had an article with celebrity tweets about Corey Haim’s death. Personally, I know or remember very little about Corey Haim. So when I read people’s reaction its always interested to see how people talk about him or to see what celebrities come out of the woodwork, and with the death of an 80s star, you’ll enjoy a lot of “remember them.”
@Alyssa_Milano Just woke up to the sad, sad news that Corey Haim passed away. RIP sweet boy. -Alyssa Milano, Actress (“Castle,” “Commando”)
The weirdest thing with this one is the credits that it gives Alyssa Milano. No “Who’s the Boss”…weak
@ralphmacchio Always so sad and disturbing when the addiction and demons prevail. RIP Corey Haim. -Ralph Macchio, Actor (“The Karate Kid,” “My Cousin Vinny”)
Just seeing Ralph Machhio’s name makes me laugh…Love that Karate Kid!
@TheJoeLynch So utterly bummed
