The Alex Show kicks off live and with an announcement about setting a show schedule.  Tuesday and Thursday nights @ 10pm on The Alex Show’s channel on USTREAM.tv.

The Liberty Mutual commercial with that terrible song and images of people helping each other out makes Alex want to vomit.  Another annoying commercial is the UPS one when they sing “logistics.”

One of the biggest stories of the day is with Star Wars star, Carrie Fisher, admitting that she snorted cocaine on the set of “Empire Strikes Back.” What more amazing is that she admitted this while promoting a comedy tour in Australia.  Who knew she was so hilarious?

Alex wonders what would’ve been like if Brett Favre would have just stayed retired after his first retirement.  No season with the Jets.  No alleged text messages.  No annoying Wrangler commercials.  The most interesting part of the Favre saga today is that there was no news from his meeting with NFL officials about the sexting incident with former Jet employee, Jenn Sterger.

Alex takes a call from long-time fan biohzrd79.  Alex hadn’t spoke with Bio since January when he went on a self-imposed exile.  This is a great chance to get a quick recap about the last ten months.

Alex is not excited about “The Hangover 2.”  Although it is now being reported that Mel Gibson will have a cameo, but there is no way that it could live up the hype.

The Alex Show is proud to welcome Scott Reilly, reuniting The Scotty and Alex Show for the first time in almost a year.  The guys start off the show wondering if anyone remembers their show because its been almost three years since the last time they were on the air together at WYSP in Philadelphia.

The reason the guys wanted to get together for a podcast was to discuss the recent format flip of their old station in Atlantic City, WJSE, to a dance station [Link].  Scotty still works at the station and gives a brief history of what happened at that station after he returned over two years ago, after S&A were let go in Philly.  Scotty was convinced that he was almost fired when the station switched to Wild 102.7 on July 4th.

Alex talks about a recent documentary of the old JSE Rocks 102.7 that was on YouTube that featured Scotty just weeks after people from his morning show were fired.  Alex said it was upsetting because he could tell Scotty looked depressed.  The documentary is worth a watch because it gives a good, REAL glimpse into the life of radio.

Alex talked about he would never go back to radio and the guys discuss what life was like after they were fired at WYSP.

The guys talks about their arrogance and their drive to make it big.  It was that combination that made them have some success.

Scotty spent some time recently on ScottyandAlex.com to reminisce on some of the glory days.  The pictures span their time in afternoon drive, to mornings, to nights in Philly.  Its a cool place to spend some time but NSFW (Not Safe for Work).

Being in Philadelphia was a blessing and curse to the show.  The guys had an experience of a lifetime making it to a major market, but being part of the Free FM debacle most likely ended their career together.  Not many people who were a Free FM show ever made it back into radio.

The guys talked about how they are still shocked that no one knew they had a two night tryout in NYC, while they were still on the air in Atlantic City.

The guys laughed about how when they left to go to Philly, the company in Atlantic City took recently printed shirts for them and sent them back to the printer.  The printer crossed out “Scotty and Alex” and ADDED a Mancow logo, who replaced S&A.  Another great idea from management and consultants.

Wednesday July 7th – 10:10pm EST – Alex kicks off the show talking about how the heat has been at all time highs in the Boston area.  In addition, Alex is really distracted because he received two phone calls in the first couple of minutes of the show.  Alex rarely receives phone calls and really needs to talk to the two people that called.

Alex talks about the continuing success of RideThePine, and how yesterday being featured on the front-page of Mevio gave him a record number of downloads.  So lets talk sports.

Lots of excitement over Lebron James’ Thursday night press conference to announce what team he will sign with.  This is an unprecedented move.  Alex bashed people who blame ESPN for this whole Lebron ridiculous, because it is the biggest story of the year.  Maybe Lebron should wait to win a title before holding another press conference.

Alex hates the CBS television show “I Get that a Lot.” What bothers him so much is the episode with Paris Hilton and she only put on a pair of glasses like Clark Kent.  People didn’t realize it was here until she took of the dumb glasses and were shock.  The best part was that they tricked “Eddie” the older brother on Family Matters.

Louis explains how he got the nickname Twitchels on season 3 of The Simple Life with Paris Hilton and Nicole Richie.

Alex notices that Louis’ tourettes ticks are a lot worse during this interview than the previous conversation.  They talk about Louis’ use of Marijuana to help common his tourettes and what its like to be an open user of an illegal drug.

Alex talks about how Twitchels’ 21st birthday party involved a wrestling card in his backyard featuring King Kong Bundy, Tito Santana, and Jimmy “Superfly” Snuka.  The guys talk about what it was like to see Snuka walking around smoking cigarettes and missing all of his teeth.  Tito Santana also tried to rip-off Louis, but King Kong Bundy confronted Tito and got Louis’ money back.

Louis tells a surprising story of how he tried to commit suicide and hang himself from his bed when he was fourteen, but he was so large at the time that the bed board snapped.  It was a situation that was joked about within his family and then never brought up again.

Louis tells us what he has been up to with his comedy and movie career.

This special episode of The Alex Show features an interview with long-time friend, Louis Centanni.  Louis known all over the world as Twitchels, the comedian with Tourettes, had been featured on MTV, the Opie and Anthony show, and the Scotty and Alex radio program.

The guys start off the show talking about how its been well over a year since they last talked.  Alex felt that since it had been such a long time and that Louis had never made an appearance on the podcast, that they should start at the beginning from the first time they met.

Twitchels tells the story of how he first found fame by making an appearance on The Tonight Show with Jay Leno doing his “belly-ball” act.  This act developed after Louis had peaked at three hundred pounds because of the side effects of the medication he took to control his tourettes.  After he graduated from high school, Centanni made the decision to take himself off the different medications and he quickly dropped the weight.  However, he was left with a large amount of skin flab that hangs over his waist.  The act involved Louis holding a wiffle ball bat with his flab and hitting a ball off a baseball tee.

Twitchels talks about how he was bumped the night he was scheduled on The Tonight Show for Ben Stiller and Vince Vaughn promoting Dodgeball.

This was the act that was performed during Twitchels first appearance on The Scotty and Alex Show.  Alex loved the total package that Twitchels brought to the show.  His energy, his personality, and his tourettes.

A few months after his appearance, Louis started to get booked on the Opie and Anthony radio show that helped his career take off.  Louis talked about his last appearance that happened over a year ago, which was preceded by a night sleeping on former Saturday Night Live cast member Colin Quinn’s couch.

The interview was cut short but will be picked up in the next podcast.

The Alex Show starts off with Alex explaining why the show was pushed back two days.  Game 7 of the 2010 NBA Finals and a belly ache/sugar coma got in the way.

The success of RideThePine.com has been amazing.  Alex talked about how his sports site is currently in the midst of a two month trial to see if it’s a viable concept.  TheAlexShow.com is still Alex’s pride and joy but Alex has always been a huge sports fan.

How did OJ Simpson get away with everything in the Nicole Brown Simpson and Ron Goldman murder trial.  ESPN aired its newest episode of the 30 for 30 series that was titles June 17th, 1994.  This was a big day in sports history.  It featured the New York Rangers Stanley Cup parade, Game 5 of the NBA finals between the Knicks and Rockets, opening day of the World Cup in the United States and Arnold Palmer’s final appearance at the US Open golf championship.  Alex was reminded how Simpson basically left a suicide note and was shocked that the 911 call that Simpson made while in that infamous white Ford Bronco was not allowed to be used in the trial.  Alex wondered if it was karma that some of those lawyers in the OJ Simpson trial are now deceased.

Alex comes back and informs everyone that in an upcoming episode, Twitchels, a world famous comedian with Tourettes will be calling into the show.  Twitchels was a long time featured guest on the “Scotty and Alex” show in Atlantic City and Philadelphia and the Opie and Anthony show.

Megan Fox and Brian Austin Green are engaged again.  Alex still can’t get past Green’s 90210 poser character, even though he was a bad ass in the Terminator: The Sarah Conner Chronicles television show on Fox.

Alex ends the show talking about the death row inmate who was killed in Utah by a firing squad.  Ronnie Lee Gardner was sentenced to death in 1985 just months before Utah banned death by a firing squad.  Alex can’t believe that it took this long to kill this guy.

Alex starts off the show talking about another celebrity that can be added to the list of oil savers, Troy Aikman.  It started with Kevin Costner, then James Cameron, and now former Dallas Cowboys Quarterback Troy Aikman.  It has to be embarrassing if you are a scientist and haven’t been approached with ideas to stop the oil.  What about the guy who actually found the Titantic (Bob Ballard), and not the guy who filmed a movie about it?  I heard Nolan Ryan might have some good ideas, that will last another nine-innings.

Alex tells the wild story of Jordan Van der Sloot who you might remember from the Natalee Holloway case.  Van der Sloot has been arrested for the murder of Stephany Flores in Peru.  The story is just insane, with Van der Sloot unknowingly taking money from the FBI in a setup and then heading to Peru where he murdered Flores in a fit of rage because she found stuff on his computer about the Holloway case.

Alex is sore from how quickly he jumped of the Flyers bandwagon after they lost the Stanley Cup from the Chicago Blackhawks last night.  If you think that was bad, wait and see if the US does well in the World Cup.  Alex will remind everyone that has a goalie in 8th grade he had a shutout season.

The college football landscape is changing like never before.  There could be a set of brand new “super” conferences.  That won’t make things any better for USC who will be penalized for the next couple of years for violations during the Reggie Bush era.  Alex wonders if Reggie Bush even cares.  He has a Super Bowl ring, millions of dollars, and Kim Kardashian…I would say college prepared him well.
