When I heard about Coleman’s death the first couple of thoughts that come to my mind.

1. Do you remember when he was sitting on the car as a security guard? [Link]
2. Bulimia
3. Fat Kids eat potato chips out of large yellow containers
4. Don’t trust dudes in bike shops
5. “What’ you talking about, Willis”

Alright, I know the Bulimia thing is a little weird but one of my most memorable episodes of Different Strokes is when Dana Plato (is she dead?) character would overeat and then force herself to throw up.  As a kid, I was shocked at this behavior.  I remember sitting there and thinking, “why would she eat that cake just to throw it up?”

I learned a lot of life lessons from that show.

Who would’ve thought that Todd Bridges would’ve outlived Gary Coleman?

When I mentioned this fact to a colleague, someone standing nearby said.

“You gonna write something bad about Dio?” in a shocked, disappointed manner.

I replied, “No, but can you name a Ronnie James Dio song?”

Silence.

My point was proven!

Somewhere along the line Ronnie James Dio became more important as a cultural reference than musician.  He became the representation of heavy metal, both good and bad.  The love of evil and darkness, the look, and that amazing voice.  Please don’t misinterpret what I’m saying, this is not a slam against Dio.  In fact, its a compliment that he has somehow became larger and more important than his music.  People remember “the horns,” people remember “Dio,” people just don’t remember “Dio’s songs.”

To prove my point, I challenge everyone reading this to come up with a Ronnie James Dio song (without looking it up on the internet) and see how many you can come up with.

I’m not really surprised by anything that I hear about Tiger anymore.  This isn’t much of a story because the girl was of legal age.  Although it’s interesting that Tiger would make a move like this so close to his home with Elin INSIDE!

I just wanted to do this story to talk about Tiger Woods at the Masters.   What’s the deal with Tiger’s goatee?  Doesn’t Tiger know that creepy facial hair reeks of a sexual predator…or a baseball relief pitcher.

Yep…this is what happens to you when you cheat with online video games in China…WHAT the FUCK????

This X-Ray, which is of a Xiao Wei a 16 year old boy from China, was taken after the boy was caught cheating playing an online video game called Counter-Strike.  The kid was using a cheat code that allowed him to see through walls and was caught doing so by a group of other players in an internet cafe in China’s Jilin province.

The group of kids confronted the cheater and then stabbed him in the HEAD.  Amazingly the kid survived with only minor injuries.

I remember throwing a controller at a friend once when I was losing in Madden and I think I tried to give him a “charlie horse” but I missed and hurt my hand.  Those were the days…

MTV had an article with celebrity tweets about Corey Haim’s death.  Personally, I know or remember very little about Corey Haim.  So when I read people’s reaction its always interested to see how people talk about him or to see what celebrities come out of the woodwork, and with the death of an 80s star, you’ll enjoy a lot of “remember them.”

You Can Keep Your Housing!

I hate apartments… I REALLY hate apartments…but it wasn’t always that way!

The first time I experienced apartment style living was in college.  I loved it.  I enjoyed being around all my friends.  I liked the excitement of people doing different things every night.  When you live in a dorm, it isn’t hard to find someone to drink with any night of the week.  You could always find someone to go in on a pizza with you and occasionally (and very rarely) you could find someone to study with.

Then, I remember the first apartment that I moved into all by myself.  I miss that apartment.  I had such pride in being able to pay for an apartment all on my own.  It didn’t matter that it was bleeding my bank account dry…I just loved the freedom.

But now three years later and sixteen months into another apartment, I’ve had it.  Nothing would signify the american dream more than having a stand-alone building with a yard.

I can’t handle another night with a baby crying!

I can’t handle the smell of curry wafting through every crevice.  I mean really, the smell starts at 10:30am and doesn’t stop till midnight.

Even as I write this, it sounds like the people upstairs are hosting a rugby match or having couch races or killing a boar.

Some nights before I fall asleep,  I rest my eyes and try to have happy thoughts on my future.  On day, I envision walking out of my front door and actually being outside.  I imagine having friends over and actually cooking hamburgers on a grill and not on a George Forman.  And as I wander off to sleep, I’m normally startled awake by a loud bang of my neighbors.
